Photos from some truly special moments, with some truly special people in Joshua Tree this April. I got to hire my best friend to run wild on floral body art for these beauties. I got to connect in real life with these two who so generously traveled across the country to share a bit of themselves with us.
Every little moment from this day, and from that week felt good. It felt flooded with growth and exploration, the things that I believed in the most and I wanted the people who were investing in me to feel. I was absolutely struck with how these people showed up vulnerable and open, including these two who modeled for a styled elopement.
I wanted to keep this one simple, creative, editorial. We shot in the clean dreamy light of the little pool shed’s shade. @petalsbypiper adorned their attire with the dreamiest blooms that we struggled to keep alive in the desert’s heat, I’m always so proud to call her my friend. I knew these two as subjects would be open hearts, so the closeness and intimacy in that was my main intention in teaching for this shoot.
Ashley + Caroline showed up so full of emotion, ready to share it with us. They wrote sweet letters to one another, and the moment we had them walk out to meet one another, I played Colors by Cole Davidson (after getting a hot tip from Caroline on what would make Ash feel the most). Everything about it felt real to me, and I loved sharing that intimacy with the girls who came to learn.
