Hello— from Marci

In the last few years, Home in the Mountains has become the most meaningful aspect of my career. The community I’ve witnessed evolve while sharing these once-in-a-lifetime experiences has fulfilled me in the most beautiful ways possible. What you can expect at one of my retreats is an open heart, a safe environment to learn and experiment, and a community that will become the pillars of your photography business.

Expect this retreat to feel like a warm hug, a trip with your best friends. We will laugh until we cry and stay up too late sharing the stories that made us. I will challenge you creatively and ask you to seek inspiration in the present, from your heart. We will come home after a long day in the mountains, bodies filled with wear, to a warm meal under the stars. We will carry our espressos to the deck at dawn and dream of the moments yet to unfold.

Together, we explore the world’s most spectacular locations. Together, we explore and connect with ourselves.

“I think that attending Marci’s workshop was

the best thing that I have ever done for my business and for myself, as an artist.

Marci is the kindest and most generous teacher that I could have asked for. She is not only willing, but excited to share her knowledge (which is extensive) and her experiences. She was so happy to answer all of my questions and genuinely thrilled to help me grow my business and further my skills.

This kindness and openness was reflected in every single aspect of Home in the Mountains. Every detail of the workshop from the shoots that we did to her presentations to the way that she structured the weekend was crafted to create a safe environment for us to learn and grow as artists in a beautifully vulnerable way. I really can’t thank Marci enough for providing this space for me and for creating such a fulfilling experience.”

“Marci's "Home in the Mountains Switzerland" is the first workshop I've ever attended, and now I don't think I could ever attend someone else's. From our first interaction when I submitted my application, I sensed that this workshop would be really different. Marci's approach was reliable and intentional, and she always communicated the expectations clearly. From the accommodations to the lessons, she was incredibly approachable and taught in a way that made storytelling and nature-based compositions very tangible. She is truly the expert of "artful compositions for shooting in nature" and I learned so much from her throughout the week. I was able to immediately apply the new knowledge to several shoots.. styled to perfection, might I add.. and that in itself was SO empowering and exciting.

During the workshop, Marci shared that her approach to business is to lead with generosity. This was so apparent during our time together and she truly led with generosity the entire week.

I don't have adequate words to express my experience, so all I can say is thank you!”

After spending a lot of time and money on “content days,” I started feeling frustrated with what I was walking away with. And that’s exactly what it was—just content. Even when marketed as including education, it often boiled down to a quick 30-45 minute talk from another photographer. While that can be valuable, I had reached a point where I was craving more from my continued education.

Attending Home In The Mountains: North Cascades changed everything. This workshop was an immersive, hands-on learning experience—intimate, intentional, and honestly, it felt like learning from an old friend.

As an elopement photographer, Marci builds her course around teaching composition and technical skills, breaking down each concept in a way that truly layers the information. But what really set this experience apart? After hours of in-depth teaching, she takes you into a real elopement with a real couple, guiding you through applying everything you’ve just learned.

One of the things that makes Marci such an incredible educator is her ability to walk you through her thought process in real time—explaining what she’s seeing, how she’s setting up a shot, even down to the camera settings she’d use. There’s no gatekeeping with her—she genuinely wants you to succeed.

And that kind of openness and generosity in education? It’s deeply rare and invaluable.
